LOT61 is not only a local neighborhood cafe serving good coffee with professional and excited baristas with passion. They are primary a coffee roasters. They roast great coffee and wholesale their packaged beans to many businesses in Amsterdam and beyond. At the heart of LOT61 is a bunch of coffee professionals who are obsessed about bringing a consistent quality coffee beverage to their customers: "We pride ourselves in providing the same level of service to larger groups such as the Hilton, Soho House, and the Hoxton, to corner kiosks such as Ikaria. in Amsterdam.”
"It is all about the terroir- the growing conditions of the coffee. That means the type of soil, the amount of sunlight, water and, more specifically, the actual lot that the beans come from. All these things affect the characteristics of the coffee."
Roast style
At Lot61,they roasts all their coffee manually on a tailor-made drum roaster by Probat. By gently applying heat. They fully develop their beans on the inside whilst keeping the roast light and clean outside. This way they can showcase terroir and the individual taste of each coffee farm. They apply strict quality control procedures to assess their roasts. In addition to that their baristas give the head roaster feedback on the coffee regularly.
The Coffee
LOT61 coffee is bold and honest yet memorable. From their house blend "Bombora"- Their first creation designed as a " strong morning workhorse coffee that was sweeter than the status quo" to single origin Ethiopian coffee "Laayyoo"- "The King of Fuji". They have coffee for coffee nerds and coffee for their everyday drinkers: "Simple, approachable and delicious".
BOMBORA ESPRESSO COFFEE
Looking for an epic go-to espresso blend? This is the one for you! Bombora is the ultimate crowd pleaser. A yummy blend of Brazilian and Guatemalan beans. It's balance of full hazelnut and chocolate tones, tempered with caramel sweetness and a dash of dark cherry. If you find yourself in old west Amsterdam , you’ll notice this is always at their the bar in Kinkerstraat. Bangin’ in milk, killer black. Just easy and bloody delicious.
